Maruti Suzuki reported a 10% increase in sales, reaching 1,81,531 units in November, compared to 1,64,439 units last year. Domestic passenger vehicle wholesales rose by 5% to 1,41,312 units, while utility vehicle sales surged to 59,003 units from 49,016 units. Exports also grew, totaling 28,633 units, up from 22,950 units in the same month last year.
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and Maruti Suzuki are gearing up to challenge Tata Motors' dominance in India's electric vehicle (EV) market. M&M has launched two new EVs and invested significantly in the ecosystem, while Maruti is set to debut the E-Vitara SUV in 2025. Despite Tata Motors holding a 58% market share, down from 74% a year ago, analysts suggest that the competition is intensifying as rivals prepare for a more active role in the EV landscape.
